Planning a trip to Terengganu often means hopping between websites, Facebook pages, and WhatsApp chats with operators just to book a handful of activities. That could soon become much easier. Tourism Terengganu and redBus have launched a new digitalisation initiative that will gradually bring more of the state’s attractions and experiences onto the redBus “Things To Do” platform.

For travellers, this means discovering and booking more Terengganu experiences in one place, making itinerary planning simpler and more convenient.

More than just bus tickets

Most Malaysians know redBus as a bus ticket booking platform, but it has also expanded into tours, attractions, and activities through its “Things To Do” marketplace. Instead of arranging experiences individually with different operators, travellers can browse available activities, book online, and receive digital tickets through a single platform.

A check of the redBus “Things To Do” marketplace shows that several Terengganu experiences are already available, including Wonderpark Kuala Terengganu, the Drawbridge Tower tour, and the Pulau Sekati Boat Tour. These offer an early glimpse of what travellers can expect as more local operators are onboarded.

Easier planning and more experiences soon

Under the initiative, Tourism Terengganu and redBus will progressively add attraction owners, activity providers, community-based tourism businesses, local tour operators, and small tourism enterprises across the state.
As more operators come on board, travellers should see a broader selection of bookable experiences become available. While the rollout will happen in stages, the aim is to make it easier to discover and reserve a wider range of activities through a single digital marketplace.

Many smaller tourism businesses have traditionally relied on direct enquiries through phone calls, social media, or messaging apps to manage bookings. Bringing more of these operators onto an established online booking platform could make them easier for Malaysian and international visitors to discover before arriving in Terengganu.

Instead of searching across multiple websites or contacting operators individually, travellers will increasingly be able to organise more of their itinerary in advance, alongside their transport arrangements.

As the rollout continues, visitors can expect the range of bookable experiences to expand, making it easier to explore not only Terengganu’s best-known attractions but also a growing selection of locally run tours and activities.
